RRBC's Senior Adult MinistryGrey hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life. The Senior Adult Ministry at Raymond Road is comprised of many activities throughout the year. Deborah Nichols, our Senior Adult Coordinator, does an excellent job of planning events and activities that engage our "Senior Saints" in fellowship, worship, and ministry opportunities. If you are a Senior Adult and are looking for a place to belong, to serve, and to experience life, we would welcome you to our fellowship with open arms. WEEKLY OPPORTUNITIES FOR SENIOR ADULTS: Sundays... Mondays... Wednesdays... MONTHLY OPPORTUNITIES FOR SENIOR ADULTS: Joy Luncheon: The Joy Luncheon is a covered-dish lunch that occurs on the third Tuesday of each month. Mrs. Betty Houston does a great job organizing and supervising this lunch. Each Joy Luncheon begins at 11:30 AM. Monthly Bible Study: Each month the senior adults gather together for a Bible study designed especially for them. This monthly Bible study occurs on the last Friday of each month at 10:30 AM. We have a special guest to lead the Bible study, plus a time of fellowship and refreshments. YEARLY OPPORTUNITIES FOR SENIOR ADULTS: Being good Baptists, our senior adults enjoy going out to eat together from time to time. There are also other events planned throughout the year that allow our seniors to get together for fun, food, fellowship, and ministry. Spring Fling (April) at Rice Acres: Includes a hamburger cookout and fishing Senior Appreciation Day (April/May): Includes a Senior Adult Choir, special guest speaker during the morning service, etc. Senior Adult Day (October) Fall Festival Roundup (October) Christmas Banquet (December) In addition, RRBC seniors have a day trip nine months out of the year. These day trips have taken them to some interesting and fascinating places in and around the Jackson area.
RRBC is thankful for the leadership, faithfulness, and encouragement our senior adults provide for our church. They are indeed "the backbone" of our church and ministry. Thank you, senior adults, for all that you do! For more information about our Senior Adult ministry, please contact Deborah. To see pictures of our senior adult ministry in action, click here. |
